An Introduction to Singular Integrals
byJacques Peyriere

In just over 100 pages, this book provides basic, essential knowledge
of some of the tools of real analysis: the Hardy-Littlewood maximal
operator, the Calderon-Zygmund theory, the Littlewood-Paley theory,
interpolation of spaces and operators, and the basics of H1 and BMO
spaces. This concise text offers brief proofs and exercises of
various difficulties designed to challenge and engage students.

This concise, practical book is for anyone interested in data-driven
decision-making. Accessible to experts and nonexperts alike, it offers
an overview of the scenario approach, including numerous examples and
diverse applications from a broad range of domains. Practitioners can
find "easy-to use recipes" while theoreticians will benefit from a
rigorous treatment of the theoretical foundations of the method.

Subject: Optimization, France, Sep 2019

The 19th French-German-Swiss conference on Optimization will take
place in Nice from September 17 to 20, 2019. This series of
conferences began in 1980 at Oberwolfach and has gathered since then
French and German colleagues in optimization every other year. It is
customary to invite a third country to participate.

In 2019, the invited country is Switzerland.

Theses conferences usually gather from 100 to 150 mathematicians and
are the main meeting of European researchers in optimization in the
broad sense. The 2019 edition is organized by LJAD and I3S labs from
CNRS, and by Inria Sophia Antipolis Mediterranee center. The
conference will be located on the Valrose campus of Universite Cote
d'Azur, on the heights of Nice.

Subject: PhD Position, Nonlinear Optimization, Trier Univ

The Chair of Nonlinear Optimization of the Trier University invites
applications for a PhD position in optimization to be filled for a
period of up to three years. The successful applicant will work in the
project "Energy efficiency via intelligent district heating networks"
in cooperation with academic partners from the TU Berlin and the

Subject: Special Issue, Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering

We would like to invite you to contribute a paper for the special
issue on the topic of " Understanding biology through mathematics and
simulations", which will be published in Mathematical Biosciences and
Engineering (MBE) in 2019. All submitted papers will go through a
peer- review process, and published papers are available online in
open access.

Biomathematics and biophysics are critical to the understanding a wide
range of problems in life science, such as how to form patterns, how
complex systems in human bodies work, how different parts of a cell
move and function, and how molecules of life are made. Mathematicians
and Physicists are continually melding and transforming biology
studies with their perspectives, especially with increased support
from computational tools. This special issue seeks to highlight recent
advances in biomathematics and biophysics, including but not limited
to the development of new models and computational methods, and
applications of existing models/methods to new biological problems.
We welcome contributions from both journal articles and reviews.
Would appreciate if you could distribute this letter within your
organization and professional network to your colleagues/students who
might be interested in this publishing opportunity.

MBE is an interdisciplinary journal promoting cutting-edge research
activities at the interfaces of mathematics, biology, medicine, and
engineering. MBE focuses on new developments in the fast-growing
fields of applied mathematics, biosciences and engineering and will be
fully Open Access in 2019. (http://www.aimspress.com/journal/MBE).
