Good afternoon, Vols!
Ever wanted to attend a conference from the comfort of your office chair
(or couch)?
Registration is now OPEN at llaonline.org/lavirtual2018 for the 2018
Louisiana Virtual Academic Conference, to be hosted online November 15
from 9AM until 2:30PM CST. No travel budget is required!
Louisiana Virtual 2018 is a collaboratively hosted pilot project of
ACRL-LA and the LLA Academic Section. The goal of Louisiana Virtual is to
provide an online opportunity for academic librarians across the nation to
share research, ideas, and best practices while having a bit of fun along
the way. Registration is only $25, a fee which will be waived for ACRL-LA
and LLA members as well as library science students.
Louisiana Virtual, as you will see from the agenda at
bit.ly/2018virtualagenda, includes formal presentations, workshops,
discussions, and lightning talks. The opportunity to interact informally
and have fun getting to know colleagues is also a vital aspect of
professional conferences, so our virtual conference includes a commons
area for casual discussion. Pop into the Commons to join a hosted hangout
session, introduce yourself, meet other attendees, and have the same sorts
of conversations you might have in the hall, on a shuttle bus, or on the
exhibit floor of a conference to which you traveled to attend.
I hope to "see" you there.
Laissez les bon temps rouler!
