Subject: Research Engineer Position, Heterogeneous HPC, Simula, Norway

Simula Research Laboratory located near Oslo, Norway will develop and
host the national research infrastructure Experimental Infrastructure
for Exploration of Exascale Computing (eX3), funded by the Research
Council of Norway.

The eX3 cluster will have a mix of nodes ranging from many-core CPUs,
via powerful GPUs, to FPGAs and processors developed specifically for
machine learning purposes. These nodes will be backed by several types
of state-of-the-art interconnect networks. By its experimental
nature, eX3 will allow an unprecedented opportunity for conducting
large-scale measurements and experiments on computational performance
and network performance undisturbed by the production-oriented usage
usually found in most HPC facilities.

There is an open research engineer position that is dedicated to
building and running this bleeding-edge, heterogeneous cluster. We are
looking for that unique individual that is technically savvy with
respect to HPC, networking, system administration, and software. The
successful candidate must also enjoy supporting competent users and
take a lead on system documentation.

Simula is an equal opportunity employer, and women are particularly
encouraged to apply.

The complete call with details on this opportunity and instructions
about the application procedure can be found at
http://www.simula.no/jobs.

While the application deadline is March 1, candidates will be assessed
continuously.

Applicants should have extensive experience with development of
scientific computing codes (e.g. as part of a PhD project), knowledge
of the SciPy ecosystem and a basic understanding of the finite element
method. A master's degree in mathematics, computer science, natural
science or engineering is a further requirement.
