Subject: SERF Update
 
Good afternoon,
 
I visited SERF this morning to see if there was any change in overall status so that I could provide an update.  Facilities continues to do an amazing job leading this effort.  Here are my notes below.  
 
• Repairs are on track as briefed on Saturday morning.  We have not reached the key operation that will determine if the plan and timeline to restore power to SERF will need to be adjusted.  That will occur this evening. 
• The temporary emergency power continues to require maintenance but it continues to provide the power needed to protect research.
• PIs and/or department representatives continue to stop by and are satisfied with the efforts being made by facilities.  I will forward some of the feedback they have gotten from academic leadership.  
• PD is assisting with building security.  
• EHS is doing a walkthrough to make sure all the chemical labs remain safe.
• There is probably equipment that was damaged as a result of the outage.  These losses should be reported to risk management.
