Health Sciences Librarian
Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) invites applications for the full time position of Health Sciences Librarian. The Health Sciences Librarian shall be responsible for providing reference assistance, collection development, and library instruction to the Lincoln Memorial University Caylor School of Nursing, and DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (DCOM) and all other faculty, staff, and students on campus and at extended learning sites. This individual’s primary responsibilities will be to provide library services to the Nursing students and faculty at the Harrogate and Corbin locations, library services for Athletic Training, and Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science, and to assist with the library services to Osteopathic Medicine and Physician Assistant students and faculty. Qualifications; Required: ALA accredited Master’s in Library Science or equivalent, occasional travel and flexibility to work a schedule typically Sunday through Thursday, with some evenings. Possess a broad knowledge of print and electronic reference sources, specifically for health sciences programs, ability to deliver instruction on library resources in the health sciences, broad knowledge of computer applications and technology used for office applications, library instruction, and library services, excellent written and oral communication skills, able to work creatively and cooperatively in a team environment to enhance library programs and services. Preferred: One year subject knowledge or experience relevant to health or life sciences, Academy of Health Information Professionals’ credentials or provisional membership, additional advanced degree.
