The position is offered through the NPS Geoscientists-in-the-Parks, but it's not a geology-focused position. Applicants do not need to be students.
The hours are flexible, and while there are things that have to be accomplished, there's some scope to adapt the job duties to fit with the successful candidate's interests and skills. It's a half-time, year-long position suitable for a graduate student - perhaps someone at the writing stage.
