Description: Leads a developing information literacy program in a small, student-
centered, team environment. Fosters critical thinking and digital literacy skills in
college students and creates in-person and online instruction using existing and
emerging technologies.
Job Duties: Leads the information literacy program using existing and emerging
technologies. Teaches information literacy skills through reference appointments,
classroom instruction, online tutorials, and web guides. Collection development in
assigned academic liaison areas. Provides academic advisement to students by
planning schedules, recommending courses, and referring them to other faculty
and University offices based on their academic needs. Serves the larger university
community through faculty and university committees.
Minimum Requirements: MLS degree from an American Libraries Association
accredited institution of higher education. Experience in teaching information
literacy skills to undergraduate students. Ability to translate the ACRL Framework
for Information Literacy for Higher Education into practice. Must have strong skills
in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid
driver's license and safe driving history are required.
