Subject: MOSQP v1.0 has been released

We are happy to announce that version 1.0 of the MultiObjective
Sequential Quadratic Programming (MOSQP) solver has been released.

MOSQP is a multiobjective optimization solver for bound, linear, and
nonlinear constrained problems (for which the derivatives of the
objective functions and constraints are available).

The algorithm performs Sequential Quadratic Programming type
iterations to build an approximation to the Pareto front.

MOSQP makes use of derivative information of the objective functions
and constraints to build quadratic models from which search directions
are obtained. It has been shown to be efficient and robust for a large
set of bound and constrained multiobjective optimization problems.

The code is written in MATLAB and it provides an interface with AMPL.

Compressive Sensing and Sparsity: Theory and Applications in
Tomography

Workshop "Flow in Deformable Porous Media"

It is organized by some of the members of the research group Numerical
Methods for Partial Differential and Integral Equations of the Applied
Mathematics Department at the University of Zaragoza, in collaboration
with our Norwegian partners of the Department of Mathematics at the
Bergen University in the project "Numerical simulation in deformable
porous media. Application to carbon dioxide storage", obtained in the
NILS Science and Sostenibility programme.

This international workshop expects to gather expert researchers in
the field of modeling and numerical simulation of flow in deformable
porous media. The scientific interests of the workshop will cover
different aspects, as modeling issues, stable discretizations and fast
solvers. The scientific program will include contributed talks by

We invite applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department
of Mathematics at Simon Fraser University. The candidate will
collaborate with Professors Ben Adcock and Paul Tupper at SFU and
Professor Yaniv Plan at the University of British Columbia.

The broad topic of this position is methods for sparse approximation,
with applications in compressed sensing and related areas. The
candidate will pursue fundamental research in both the design of
random measurement strategies and the probabilistic analysis of sparse
regularization techniques. Applications range from parallel imaging
systems to stochastic collocation techniques for uncertainty
quantification.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in probability theory
and numerical analysis. Applicants from all disciplines are encouraged
to apply.  The salary will be at a competitive level and include
funding for travel.  Fellows will need to teach one undergraduate
course per year.

Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA),
Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Foerderung der Angewandten Forschung
E.V. (Fraunhofer), Deutsches Zentrum fuer Luft und Raumfahrt
E.V. (DLR), TS-SFR Solutions for Research GMBH (TS-SFR), Universitat
Jaume I de Castellon. The project will focus on seven key programming
APIs: MPI, GASPI, OpenMP, OmpSs, StarPU, QUARK and PaRSEC, each of
which has a project partner with extensive experience in API design
and implementation.

The positions will focus on design, implementation, and evaluation of
parallel algorithms relating to linear algebra with regards to the
extreme-scale challenges. The research will be done in close
collaboration with recognized researchers and PhD students in the
research group as well as with other partners in INTERWinE.
