The University of Arizona seeks an outstanding individual at the rank
of tenured Associate or Full Professor to provide scientific,
educational and administrative leadership in the field of
Interdisciplinary Applied Mathematics, with the expectation that the
selected individual will assume the position of Chair of the
University’s Graduate Interdisciplinary Program in Applied
Mathematics. The Program is noted for its interdisciplinary breadth,
with faculty consisting of some 75 researchers from numerous colleges
and departments throughout the University, and approximately 50
doctoral candidates currently enrolled. See
http://appliedmath.arizona.edu/ for further information.

The successful candidate is expected to possess a proven commitment to
teaching and advising graduate students, demonstrated excellence in
teaching at undergraduate as well as graduate levels, and a commitment
to the recruitment and training of women and members of
underrepresented minorities. The appointee will be expected to
maintain an active, widely recognized and externally funded research
program and to actively seek external training grants to support the
Program. As Chair, the appointee would be expected to provide
leadership in the continued development of the Program’s quality and
recognition, and would have the opportunity and resources to
participate in faculty recruitment initiatives in partnership with
other academic units. He/she will teach at the graduate and/or
undergraduate levels, and will be appointed as a tenure-track or
tenured faculty member in whichever department is most appropriate,
with the possibility of joint appointments in other relevant
departments.

Applications should be submitted at http://www.uacareertrack.com, job
number 58068. Applicants should include the following: letter of
interest; curriculum vitae including full list of publications and
names and contact information of at least three references; personal
statement including research interests and plans, teaching experience
and philosophy, vision of research and graduate education in applied
mathematics. For further information, potential applicants may contact

TWO LECTURER POSITIONS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Georgia
invites applications for two Lecturer positions starting August 2015.
To apply, please upload an application letter, curriculum vitae, and a
statement of teaching philosophy, as a single PDF file, at
https://webapps.franklin.uga.edu/jobs/apply.php?id=102 . Applicants
should also arrange for at least three letters of reference to be
uploaded separately to the same web site.

Subject: Postdoc Position, Large Scale Linear Algebra, Inria Paris

We are inviting applications for two postdoctoral positions that are
open in our group at Inria in Paris, France. The successfull
candidates will join NLAFET, a project funded by the European
Commission and involving Inria, Umea University, University of
Manchester and STFC/RAL. They will conduct research on iterative
solvers and robust preconditioners aiming at a significant reduction
of communication and thus suitable for future and emerging large scale
computers. The algorithms developed will be validated on several
applications targetted by NLAFET, such as computational fluid
dynamics, astrophysics. A close collaboration and visits with the
other partners of the project will be involved.

The candidates should have a PhD in applied mathematics or computer
science and expertise in numerical linear algebra and/or high
performance computing.

To apply, please send your detailed CV to [log in to unmask] and
arrange for two reference letters, which should be sent directly by
the recommenders. The positions are opened until filled, but for full
consideration, the applications should be received on or before June
30. The preferred start date is around November 2015.

Subject: PhD Fellowship Positions, SUURPh Programme

The Simula Research Laboratory and University of Oslo (UiO) welcome
applications for doctoral fellowships in computational biology and
medicine funded through the SUURPh programme. SUURPh fellows will be
enrolled through the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at
UiO, and conduct their work with advisors located primarily at Simula
or UiO. An important feature of these collaborative fellowships is
that students will also be supported (and required) to complete a
portion of their work at the University of California San Diego (USA).
Typically this period will last from 6 months to 1 year depending on
the project. We will accept applications from students of all
backgrounds but recommend that applicants possess a strong foundation
in computational and quantitative sciences. To be eligible, students
must also have completed a Masters in an appropriate field by the end
of summer of 2015.

For more information and to submit your application, please visit the
SUURPh home page: http://www.simula.no/education/suurph-collaboration
