Hello, my name is Jameson Hirsch, and I am a Clinical Psychologist at East Tennessee State University. I have received approval from the Institutional Review Board at my University to conduct a survey focused on protective characteristics and well-being in community-dwelling veterans.



Although much is known about risk factors and poor health outcomes in veterans, little is known about protective factors and what might promote well-being and health.  I am requesting your permission, and your assistance, to invite veterans to participate in my study by completing an online survey.  I am hoping you can communicate this opportunity to members of your veteran network?

The survey is completely confidential. I am not requesting email or mailing addresses, phone numbers or any personally identifying information about the individuals in your organization; all participation will be completely anonymous (although respondents will have an opportunity to enter their contact information to enter a raffle drawing for Amazon.com<http://Amazon.com> gift certificates).



I am requesting that you forward my letter of invitation to complete the online survey, on my behalf, to the veterans in your organization, or post it to your website or distribute via social media.  Attached to this email is the letter of invitation you can send to the individuals in your organization/group.



If you are not the person responsible for approving this type of request, I would very much appreciate if you would forward the name and contact information of the person with whom I should communicate.
