I am very excited to share with you that Adam Laclair has been named a Goldwater Scholar today. Adam is a Math Honors student in his third year at UT. He also has a minor in Computer Science. His career goal is a PhD in number theory, with a focus on computational methods.
The Goldwater scholarship is considered the most prestigious national undergraduate award given in sciences. Competition for the scholarship is exceptionally intense. Each university is allowed to nominate only four undergraduate students per year, and it often happens that none is selected for the award. Our university has two winners this year: Benjamin Brock (Computer Science) and Adam Laclair (Mathematics).
Let’s congratulate them for this amazing accomplishment!
