Hello Graduate Student Senate Representatives,

I wanted to forward some information along to you about an upcoming event.
Could you please forward this to the members of the GSS? It is a great event that
celebrates Women in STEM fields. Thank you!

My name is Kate Abrahamsson, a current graduate student in the Department of
Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. I am currently serving as a
representative for the Commission for Women’s STEM committee here at UTK. On
behalf of the committee, I would like to formally invite you and the members of
the GST program to participate in our NEW Annual UT Women in STEM Research

Group/ Organization Expo poster or oral presentation on your research.

The symposium will be a free, full day professional conference with poster
sessions, oral sessions, a plenary presentation given by Dr. Claudia Rawn (Director,
UTK Center for Materials Processing), a Q/A panel of STEM faculty and staff, and
the STEM Student Organization Expo. Based on the results of our faculty judges,
the best poster and best talk will receive a FREE parking pass! Please see the
attached flyer for a more detailed schedule of the day’s events.

Registration for the symposium is completely free and open to male or female
visitors or volunteers, and undergraduate or graduate student, female presenters
may submit their abstracts through the same registration portal
(http://www.cfw.utk.edu).

Please feel free to forward this email to your STEM colleagues or to print copies of
the attached flyer and distribute them as well. Thank you for your time and we
