celebrates Women in STEM fields. Thank you!
My name is Kate Abrahamsson, a current graduate student in the Department of
Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. I am currently serving as a
representative for the Commission for Women’s STEM committee here at UTK. On
behalf of the committee, I would like to formally invite you and the members of
the GST program to participate in our NEW Annual UT Women in STEM Research
Symposium on Saturday, April 18th by presenting a hosting a table at our Student
Group/ Organization Expo poster or oral presentation on your research.
The symposium will be a free, full day professional conference with poster
sessions, oral sessions, a plenary presentation given by Dr. Claudia Rawn (Director,
UTK Center for Materials Processing), a Q/A panel of STEM faculty and staff, and
the STEM Student Organization Expo. Based on the results of our faculty judges,
the best poster and best talk will receive a FREE parking pass! Please see the
attached flyer for a more detailed schedule of the day’s events.
Registration for the symposium is completely free and open to male or female
visitors or volunteers, and undergraduate or graduate student, female presenters
may submit their abstracts through the same registration portal
(http://www.cfw.utk.edu).
