Clemson University Library seeks an inquisitive and service-oriented professional to provide leadership and direction for Interlibrary Loan services. Reporting to the head of the Information & Research 
Services Unit, the Interlibrary Loan librarian will guide a team of 2.5 staff in providing access to material beyond Clemson’s collections. This is a 12-month tenure-track position with faculty rank and 
status. Clemson library faculty participate in library-wide planning and governance and are active in professional organizations. 

Responsibilities
•	Coordinates all aspects of interlibrary loan, including managing staff and daily operations.
•	Investigates, develops and implements innovative and efficient ways to provide resource sharing services and deliver content to faculty and students.   
•	Ensures interlibrary-loan-specific software/hardware is installed and upgraded as needed.
•	Applies knowledge of copyright law to interlibrary loan and other unit services such as course reserves.  
•	Researches difficult or incomplete citations; identifies sources for requests that cannot be found in ILLiad and places orders.
•	Represents the Libraries on local and regional resource sharing groups; evaluates and pursues requests for reciprocal agreements.
•	Engages in outreach and participates in other unit activities.  May provide instruction sessions, liaison services, collection development, and research assistance to students, faculty, and staff.  
•	Maintains a working knowledge of resource sharing best practices.

Requirements
•	ALA-accredited MLS degree or equivalent
•	Two years library experience, preferably in public services
•	Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•	Advanced bibliographic searching skills
•	Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
•	Demonstrated knowledge and experience with current trends in interlibrary loan and document delivery
•	Knowledge of Millennium, OCLC, ILLiad, WorldCat, and related interlibrary loan systems
•	Applied knowledge of copyright law
•	Experience providing basic and in-depth reference assistance
•	Supervisory skills and/or experience 
•	Evidence of, or potential for, professional and/or scholarly activity

Salary and Benefits: Faculty rank and competitive salary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. State of South Carolina, TIAA-CREF, or other retirement plans available. 
Various medical plans, dental plans, 18 days annual leave, 15 days sick leave, 12 paid holidays, and liberal professional development leave are provided. Clemson University allows employees to earn 
up to six credit hours free of charge each semester. Library faculty receive an individual stipend for travel or other professional development activity.
