to vote Absentee ends Oct. 28, so act now and visit your county's website for more 
information.

Wed., Oct. 29, 6 pm - "Pizza and Politics with the UT College Dems and Repubs in a 
debate on many issues from the TN amendments to student loan debt,  battling terrorism, 
healthcare, and more.  Co-sponsored with UT SGA and Baker Ambassadors

Thursday, Oct. 30, 7 pm - "Let's Make Voting Popular!"  Baker Ambassadors, Diana 
Howell, Morgan Chance, Alexandra Chiasson and others, are hosting this "Mean Girl's" 
themed event encouraging their peers to learn about the issues and vote.  

For students and everyone - be sure to come out to these events:

Nov. 6, 7 pm - Dr. Jeanita Richardson on Full-Service Community Schools --  "Looking 
Backward to Plan Ahead:  Lessons for the Community and Full-Service School Movement."
Dr. Richardson visits from the Univ. of Virginia to share her thoughts on the importance 
of factors external to the school that impact academic success.  She has written on the 
Community Schools movement and will be visiting one of UT's own UACS - University 
Assisted Community School - Pond Gap Elementary, directed by Dr. Bob Kronick.  Baker 
Learning Community members study education policy in their fall course and work in 
UACS schools in the spring.  This event is sponsored by the College of Education, Health 
and Human Sciences and the Haslam Scholars Program.  

Nov. 12, 10:30 am - Baker Cafe with Dr. Krista Wiegand, Baker Faculty Fellow on "The 
Intractability of International Conflicts."  This is our last coffee of the semester, so join us 
for coffee and discussion in the Rotunda Reading Room on Wed. morning.
