As exams begin I wanted to wish you all the best for the summer recess and to give you a sneak peek of all we have ahead here at the Hunter Museum of American Art. We hope that you will join us for these upcoming events and exhibits and consider including a visit to the Museum in your fall syllabus.
* Thanks to your promotion of our First Annual Undergraduate Student Symposium to your students, we received some excellent applications with papers representing a wide range of fields, topics and institutions. The symposium will take place on Sunday April 27 at 1 p.m. and it would be wonderful to have faculty attend this symposium to support the students as they prepare for the next steps in their academic careers. * On Thursday May 8 at 6 p.m. we welcome artist Lalla Essaydi to our artwise distinguished lecture series. This Moroccan-American artist, known for her haunting images that blend Islamic calligraphy with the female body has been shown at major exhibitions worldwide. Please join us for Essaydi’s talk about her work.
