It was briefly thought that we would be able to code ARTH 402 in Banner so that only majors and minors could register. Unfortunately it seems that coding doesn't work, so we are back to signing up on the list in the Art Office. If you are on the "wait list" online, please forget that, it won't work, and sign up on the list.
FYI, Dr. Campbell intends to title this course "Borrowed Bodies" and have it focus on the role of bodies and their appropriation/use in American art from the early colonial period up to today. Topics could include representations of slaves, minstrelsy, Gibson Girls, Alfred Stieglitz's nude photographs of Georgia O'Keeffe up to and including the current obsession with zombie movies.
Prerequisites for the course are 375 and at least junior status (60 hours). You should have done a few upper-division courses before taking the class as well.
