Dear all,
In anticipation of our spring 2014 exhibition, AFRICAN AMERICAN ART: HARLEM RENAISSANCE, CIVIL RIGHTS ERA, AND BEYOND, the Hunter Museum of American Art is pleased to announce its first Undergraduate Student Symposium on April 27, 2014. We invite our local universities, as well as regional colleagues in Nashville, Knoxville, Atlanta and surrounding areas, to encourage students to submit paper abstracts related to race in American art and culture. We will accept interdisciplinary topics, and hope this opportunity will allow undergraduates the chance to network with other students across the region, receive feedback, and practice for graduate level experiences. Please find the attached Call for Papers and submission form, and feel free to direct any questions or comments to me.
Thank you in advance for forwarding to your students!
My best,
Rachel
