Subject: NSF Bio Center Intro computational workshops

Hello all,

Happy 2014!  Hopefully everyone is safely coming out the other side of the cold or the heat.  It was great to meet you all the NSF Bio Center workshop last year.  You were all involved in the discussion about putting together an introductory computational workshop that we could use across the NSF Bio Centers, and I would like to (finally) start moving forward on putting that together.

The first thing that we discussed doing was putting together a list of things that we would like our user base to know.  We were going to get groups together in our respective centers, make lists and then compare them in a group phone call.  You may not have had a chance to get your group and list together, but even if you haven't I'd like to schedule a phone call for early the week of the 20th to touch base and compare lists that we do have.  Even if you haven't surveyed everyone in your group, I imagine you have a generally good idea of what it is you'd like people to know.

Is everyone on this list still interested in this topic?  If so, please go to the Doodle poll and fill out times for your availability for a phone call (times will automatically show as your local time zone).  
Also, if there are others in your group who are interested, please also let them know about the phone call.

I'll set up a shared space where I will post a list of items that we have that people can add to or edit.  If you also have a list, you can add it to this shared space.  I'll set that up and let you know where it is.
