Project ROVER (Returning Our Veterans to Employment and Reintegration) is collecting information from U.S. Veterans via a web-based survey, and is counting on your help to disseminate the survey to U.S. Veterans.

We are requesting that you participate in a 60-minute survey as part of a research study being conducted by West Virginia University and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), which is part of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
This web-based survey is being announced to veterans in the United States as part of Project ROVER (Returning Our Veterans to Employment and Reintegration).
The goal of Project ROVER is to evaluate the use of assistance dogs in improving the transition of veterans from military life to civilian life and re-employment.
Your responses will help us better understand the role that animals play in veterans’ lives and how animals might impact veterans’ abilities to cope with psychological disabilities and other stressors associated with social reintegration and return to work. This survey will gather information in the following topic areas:
1. Deployment history, exposure to traumatic events, past and current pet ownership, status of any physical or psychological disabilities, and level of functioning;
2. Perceived barriers and facilitators to returning to work;
3. Role and animals and pets in the Veteran’s daily life and in issues related to returning to work.
The survey will take approximately 60 minutes to complete.
