--- There's a new way to get research assistance at the UT Libraries: texting. Text your brief library or research question to 865-383-1323. Add them to your contacts and you can have librarians at your service wherever you and your phone may travel - even if you're just up in the stacks, studying. More at library.utk.edu/news.

--- As the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens battle it out on the field this Sunday, a team of UT students will be behind the scenes at the NFL's Super Bowl XLVII preparing special events and working VIP hospitality suites.

--- McClung Museum exhibit, "Splendid Treasures of the Turkomen Tribes from Central Asia," runs now through May 12. See exquisite pieces of jewelry from the Ringling Museum, as well as Turkomen weavings and clothing from local collectors here in Knoxville. --- The third of four finalists in the search for the associate provost and director of the Chancellor's Honors and Haslam Scholars programs will visit campus today and lead a forum for the campus community. Lori Underwood, associate professor and department chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Christopher Newport University, will lead a forum from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. in the Crest Room of the University Center.

--- The Student Dental Association will host a speaker who will discuss the business in dentistry and cosmetic dentistry at 6:30 p.m. tonight in EPS 400.

--- Why is reforming our health care system so difficult and contentious? David Mirvis, UT adjunct professor of public health, will speak about the adoption of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on January 29 in the College of Nursing Room 201.

--- Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship will host a "Dance the Night Away" fundraiser semi-formal from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 14th at the John XXIII Catholic Center on campus. Important Deadlines

--- Due to last week's weather, the Office of Research has extended nomination deadlines for three research-related awards to be made at the Chancellor's Honors Banquet in April. Nominations are due by noon today for four senior faculty for research and creative achievement, four junior faculty for professional promise in research and creative achievement, and one multidisciplinary research team that has succeeded in gaining major external resources and recognition for research.

--- The application deadline for the 17th annual Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement (EUReCA) has also been extended due to last week's weather. Applications are due by noon on Wednesday, Jan. 30. EUReCA will be held March 18 and 19 in the University Center Ballroom. The event is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on March 19, with an awards ceremony taking place at 6:00 p.m. Questions? Call 974-0437.

--- The library wants to display your art work. The Student Art in the Library contest awards a First Prize of $300, Second Prize of $150, and Third Prize of $75. Submission deadline is Feb. 10. The library is looking for two-dimensional works to be displayed in 135 Hodges Library throughout the spring semester.
