Hello all:
There is room in the following art history classes:
ARTH 375 - Art History Seminar I
This class is required of all art history majors using the 2009 and later catalogues and minors using the 2011 and later catalogues. It is also a prereq for ARTH 402 Art History Seminar II. If you plan to graduate any time before December 2014 (THAT'S 2014--A YEAR FROM NOW) you should take this class now. It is only offered in the spring semester, so you can't take it again until spring, 2014, and you need it to take 402.
ARTH 414 - Art of China II
Survey of the art and architecture of China from the Yuan through the Qing dynasties (1644-1911). The major achievements of each period are examined in relation to their religious, political, and social contexts. Writing-emphasis course.
This is a new-ish art history course that may not appear in earlier iterations of the Art History/Art/Graphic Design curricula and so is not yet full. If you have taken ARTH 415, you cannot take this because of the overlap in content. Can be used for non-Western area req or electives.
416 – Chinese Art of the 20th and 21st Centuries
451 – Art of Italy (1250-1450)
475 – 19th Century European Art
479 - Special Topics: Greek and Roman Sculpture. Can be used for art history electives.
