To each of you who have served our country, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for helping keep us all safe. It is such an honor to work with each of you and I hope that I can help make your college experience all that you hoped it would be. I sincerely apologize for the time that it has been taking for the VA to pay out and I will not stop trying to figure out a way to get them to do better and to speak up on your behalf when I can. Additionally if you have left messages for me or sent emails in the past month and haven't heard back from me I am so sorry. I am doing my best to catch up on those, however, over the next few weeks if you have questions or concerns it may be best to come to the office as enrollment for the spring in my office has already started and there are at least 75 new students expected to start using benefits.
I hope that all of you have a wonderful day today. Make sure you take advantage of some of the discounts and freebies that are going on today and tomorrow. Also please try to stop by the tent on the south lawn of Ayres Hall tomorrow at 1:45 to hear Troy Lane, Veteran and Chief of UT Police, speak and to hear bagpipes and observe a nationwide minute of silence. We will be serving hot chocolate and you can pick up a ribbon to wear in honor of all who have served. If you did not get a chance to sign the board that was in my office this week you can also stop by to sign that during the event. I hope to see all of you there!
Thank you again for your service. Happy Veterans Day!!!!!!
