--- It was wet and cloudy, but hundreds of UT students, employees, and the Knoxville community turned out this morning to see the live broadcast of "Today" from the south lawn of Ayres Hall. --- Emergency Management Month -- What if There is a Shooting on Our Campus? 

Do you know what to do if the unthinkable becomes a tragic reality? Individual response is critical to thwarting the goals of an active shooter. Do you know when it is best to run or seek cover?

--- The Black Cultural Programming Committee will host its 8th annual Legends Lecture Series at 7 p.m. tonight in the UC. The lecture series honors African Americans who have made significant contributions to global society. This year's speaker is Susan L. Taylor, who will discuss "Bold, Visionary Leadership: From the Inside Out." Free and open to the public, with a reception to follow at the Black Cultural Center.

--- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority invites the campus to "The ApAKAlypse: Survival of the Fittest" this week. Events begin with a "PinkOut on Pedestrian Walkway" from noon to 2 p.m tomorrow, where you can stop by to learn about breast cancer awareness while picking up a few PINK treats. Ragamala is an Indian dance company that specializes in Bharatanatyam, a South Indian classical dance, and combines it with more contemporary styles. --- Students at the Baker Center have launched a voter registration drive, with support from several other student organizations, now through Friday, Oct. 5. Sign up at the Baker Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in suite 302, Hodges Library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first floor, or the Panhellenic building from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Questions? All of these fun activities will be featured on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the VolAware Street Fair, an event to raise awareness about mental health issues.
