--- Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6. Are you registered to vote in Knox County? If so, you can vote early on campus from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1. The campus early voting location is in Room 227 of the University Center, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. A photo identification card issued by a state or federal government is required. Your UT ID does not meet this requirement. For more info visit the Knox County Election Commission website at http://www.knoxcounty.org/election/.

--- Mortar Board National Honor Society will be collecting children's books and money donations to go towards books for the kids at the URHC Trunk or Treat event, as well as at the Boys & Girls Club in Knoxville. --- The Women's Coordinating Council's will host "The Clothesline Project" on Pedestrian Walkway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday this week in preparation for WCC's annual Take Back the Night. "The Clothesline Project" is designed to promote the awareness of issues regarding domestic and sexual violence through the creation of shirts. The Annual Freshmen Talent Show auditions will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. tonight and tomorrow in the Panhellenic Multipurpose Room. Come with all necessary items to perform. --- Award-winning slam poet and LGBTQ activist, Andrea Gibson, along with other local artists, will give a performance a 6 p.m. tomorrow in the Black Cultural Center. In coordination with the performance, Gibson will host a gender theory workshop from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 in room 251 of Hodges Library. Both events are free and open to the public. "Politics, Incivility, and the Media: The Need to Restore Dialogue and Debate" is the title of a discussion featuring four political and media experts that will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the Baker Center. --- Cartoonist Charlie Daniel will be honored at a reception this Thursday, Oct. 25 with a reception at 6 p.m. and remarks at 6:30 p.m. in the Hodges Library auditorium. All students are invited. In 2011, Charlie Daniel donated his entire life's work of hand-drawn, original cartoons to the UT Libraries. Daniel has been the editorial cartoonist at the Knoxville News Sentinel for 20 years. --- This year’s Take Back the Night (TBTN), hosted by the Women’s Coordinating Council, will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25 on Pedestrian Walkway. TBTN is an annual event to raise awareness about sexual assault and domestic violence that includes a silent march, a speaker presentation, and a speak out. Apply to be an Ignite Team Leader online now at leadershipandservice.utk.edu and be a part of next summer’s leadership, service, and adventure. Complete your application by Nov. 1 and come to the Center for Leadership and Service (UC room 305) by Nov. 2 to sign up for an interview. Ready for the World Events

--- The International House and the International Justice Mission are promoting awareness of modern slavery this week with a series of events.

Today at 5 p.m., there will be a screening of the documentary film "Born into Brothels," followed by a presentation, "Cry for Justice."

Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 5 p.m., the documentary "Black Gold" will be screened, followed by a presentation on "Child Trafficking in West Africa."

Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 5 p.m., the documentary "Free Trade Slaves" will be screened, followed by a presentation on "Seek Justice. Rescue the Oppressed."

Thursday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m., there will be a screening of the documentary "The Dark Side of Chocolate," followed by a presentation on "Child Domestic Servitude in Haiti."

Make Orange Green

--- Ever wonder why Ayres Hall is the greenest building on campus? Come to a green building tour to learn about what makes a sustainable building. Green building tours will be given in Ayres Hall at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow and at 1 p.m. on Oct. 24. Tours will also be given in Min Kao at 3:45 p.m. tomorrow and at 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 24. Each tour will last approximately 30 minutes.

--- Celebrate national Campus Sustainability Day, Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. by watching the national Keynote Broadcast in Hodges Library room 129. Learn about and discuss how students and colleges and universities can create a just, healthy, and sustainable society.
