Dear all,
Our next AIA lecturer is Egyptologist Lanny Bell from Brown University. He will visit the UT campus on October 2 and 3, and give 3 lectures:
Oct. 2, 2:10-3:25 pm, HSS 115: “Popular and Profane Experiences with the Sublime: The Temple as a Social and Cultural Focus in Egypt”
Oct. 2 at 7:30 pm, McClung Museum: “The Reunion of Body and Soul: Sacred Sexuality and Resurrection in the Netherworld”
Oct. 3 at 7:30 pm, McClung Museum: “The Romance of Archaeology—NOT!: The University of Pennsylvania Museum’s Theban Tomb Project” .
All are illustrated lectures, free and open to the public. They are organized by the East Tennessee Society of the Archaeological Institute of America and the Frank McClung Museum. For more details, see attached flyer.
I also attach an updated lecture schedule for this year.
