--- The "Today" show will be live on campus Wednesday, and this is your chance to be seen on national TV!

UT is one of the finalists in the show's "Kathie Lee and Hoda Go Back to College" challenge. We're now in competition to have the show broadcast live from campus in early October. The other five finalists are Syracuse, Ohio State, Brandeis, the Univ. of South Florida, and Creighton.

A "Today" reporter will be doing live segments from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday from the south side of Ayres Hall to introduce UT to viewers and promote the competition. You are invited to be part of that broadcast. So wear your orange and turn out to prove to "Today" viewers that UT has the best college spirit in America!

For more info on the challenge and to vote for UT, visit http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/48908637/ns/today-kathie_lee_and_hoda/t/kathie-lee-hodas-college-challenge-official-rules/#.UFcambJmTIo

--- Emergency Management Month --- The National Weather Service is now automatically warning people of dangerous weather and other emergencies via a special type of text messaging to cellphones. The messages are location-based and sent to people with smartphones capable of receiving the wireless emergency alerts through their carrier. It's important to note that the NWS messages are different from UT Alert text messages.
