Hi!
My name is Melissa Lee. My friend, Mark Remec, and I started the
Undergraduate Research Students' Association, and we're having a kickoff
meeting next Tuesday, September 18, at 5:30 in the Shiloh Room in the UC.
We'll be talking about how to get into research, and, if you're already in
research, opportunities for presenting your research and getting more
involved in the undergraduate research community. There will be
representatives from the Office of Research, the Office of National
Scholarships and Fellowships, the Roosevelt Institute Campus Network, and
Pursuit: The Journal of Undergraduate Research there. Also present will be
Dr. Lee Riedinger, the interim Vice Chancellor for Research, the director of
the Bredesen Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Education, and the
main facilitator of the UT-ORNL collaboration, speaking about undergraduate
research at ORNL. And free pizza. :)
Since undergraduate research is so important for graduate/medical school
admissions, would you mind forwarding this email to the members of the
Golden Key? A flyer for the meeting is attached, and the link for the
facebook event is below.
