Good evening NC1186 members:

This is a reminder thattomorrow is split into three activities. Two groups are meeting on Saturday.  The first group is members of the USDA-SCRI Planning Grant referred to as “Contain” and they will meet from 8:30 AM until 2:00 PM in room E162AB at the Columbus Convention Center.  The Contain grant is a product of the firsttwo years of the NC1186 multistate research project and involves many members of the NC1186 group.  The focus of the meeting is to prepare and submit an SCRI grant, led by Sarah White (Clemson), that focuses on water challenges for greenhouse and nursery production. The second activity on Saturday is an informal meeting to provide an opportunity for NC1186 members to meet causally, as a group or individually, in an open forum.  The objective of this forum is for members to initiate and/or further development of future collaborations or potential grants related to water and ornamental production.  All members of NC1186 are encouraged to attend an open session from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in room E162AB at the Columbus Convention Center.

The final activity of the day is the Horticulture Research Institute / American Nursery & Landscape Association summer reception on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Columbus (Franklin Ballroom - CD on theSecond Level). The formal NC1186 meeting including station reports, student presentations, and formal agenda (see below) will take place on Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in room E162AB at the Columbus Convention Center.
