The Counseling Center offers a brief, anonymous, free online mental health screening to all students. --- March is Women's HERstory Month, highlighting workplace equality. To celebrate, the Women's Coordinating Council is hosting "Rated W: for Success," hallmarking women's issues and awareness. The week will begin by hosting "Mind the Gap– Equal Pay Day Bake Sale" at the Pedestrian Mall from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday and Tuesday. The sale is intended to highlight pay equality in gender. The week will conclude with a "Women in the Workplace Forum," Thursday, March 8 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the UC Shiloh Room. The panel will include outstanding women in the UT community.

--- Management department open house, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 5 in Haslam room 201. Learn about the management and human resources management majors, the entrepreneurship collateral, as well as the department's master's and doctoral programs. Refreshments provided. --- The American Nuclear Society (ANS), the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) and Women in Nuclear (WIN) will be having a joint meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 5 in Perkins room 324. Gorden Fee, retired CEO and President of Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, will be giving a talk about his experience overseeing the K-25, Y-12 and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory sites on the DOE Oak Ridge Reservation. --- Novelist Christopher Hebert will read at UT's Writers in the Library on Monday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hodges Library Auditorium. His first novel, "The Boiling Season," is set on an unnamed Caribbean island engulfed in political turmoil. The narrator escapes to a remote and idyllic mountain estate only to be overtaken by the unrest that rocks his country. More at www.lib.utk.edu/writersinthelibrary/.

--- SPEAK, Students Promoting Environmental Action in Knoxville, meeting at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5 in UC room 226. If you're interested in saving the environment, promoting green policies on campus, or even volunteering at local schools/areas in encouraging environmentally friendly actions, then stop by SPEAK. 

--- The Diversity Job Fair, presented by Career Services, will take place on Tuesday, March 6, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m in the UC Ballroom. The purpose of the Diversity Job Fair is to connect students from different backgrounds with employers who are committed to diversifying their workforce. The event is designed for students from a variety of populations, such as students with disabilities, the LGBT community and individuals from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, but is open to all.

--- "Dialogue: A Conversation on Race and Religion at UT," a film screening and panel discussion, will be be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6 in the Black Cultural Center. The event is free and open to the public. Following the film, a panel will take questions from the audience.

--- There will be a meeting of the Collegiate Entreprenuers' Organization on Tuesday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. in Haslam room 113. The speaker is Rachel Young, who operates Big Cheese Marketing, a web design company, and a weight-loss business. Rachel also has written a self-published book, "Conversations with Female Millionaires." T-shirts will be sold at this week's meeting. Refreshments will be served.


--- The Events Committee of the Chancellor's Honors Program once again presents "Pizza and Politics." Come join the discussion on Tuesday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the Baker Center. Dine with your friends and discuss the the latest political developments as the Super Tuesday presidential primary vote arrives in Tennessee. Free and open to the public.

--- The Spring Job Fair will take place on Wednesday, March 7, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Thompson Boling Arena. The Spring Job Fair is the final campus-wide job fair of the school year. The event's primary focus is on graduating seniors seeking full-time employment. Log in to Hire-A-Vol for a list of employers attending the fair, types of positions available and desired majors. You can also submit your resume to employers in advance through the RSVP feature. Dress professionally and bring multiple copies of your resume. --- The NEXUS Interdisciplinary Conference will be held March 8 to 10 on campus. This is a small conference organized every year by graduate students in the English department, with members of the department faculty serving as panel chairs and staffing all of the events. The conference is free to UT faculty and students (with valid ID). This year's theme, "Voice and Voicing in a Technological Era," focuses on the effects of technology on self-expression. Topics of the presentations and panels range from the influence of technology on social movements and the use of technology in the classroom, to the integration of technology in art and literature. --- Nourish International meeting, Thursday, March 8, at 7:00 p.m. in HSS room 203. The mission of Nourish International is to eradicate poverty by engaging students and empowering communities. 

--- The Campus Entertainment Board presents Open Mic Night with Levi Stephens on Thursday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the UC Ballroom. Levi Stevens is a Washington D.C. native who combines the music of rhythm and blues with a variety of genres, including soul, rock, gospel and folk. He also acts as songwriter and producer of Kollective Music. The event will also feature additional performances from UT students. This event is free and open to UT students with student ID.

--- The UT Science Forum presents Dr. Terry C. Hazen, UT/ORNL Governor's Chair Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering, who will speak on “Can Mother Nature Take a Punch?- The Gulf Oil Spill” on Friday, March 9 from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. The Science Forum is free and open to the public. --- The 2nd Annual PEER Symposium will be held on Thursday, March 29 at the UC. The theme this year is "Networking for Success." Networking is much more than making an effort to meet every person at a conference; it is about building collaborations and putting oneself in the position to move forward professionally. This will be an extremely beneficial symposium for undergraduates and graduate students who want to work in academia or in industry. It is also appropriate for any faculty or staff that would like to support PEER with their attendance.

--- The 2012 Electrochemical Energy Storage and Conversion Forum will take place on April 19-20 at the Knoxville Convention Center.  Students who wish to attend must register in advance at https://utconferences.outreach.utk.edu/ei/getdemo.ei?id=238&s=_4CK0Z3UD1&bulk=y and have a valid student ID. --- The Parents Association is looking for student volunteers. As part of Orange & White Weekend, the Parents Association will be hosting Spring Family Day on Saturday, April 21. We are searching for student volunteers that have a skill or talent in the artistic field, such a, face painting, drawing, sketches, etc. This is a great opportunity for students to boost their resume by volunteering for this event. Important Deadlines

--- The Dean of Students office is accepting applications for scholarships for undergraduate students based on campus leadership and campus and community service.  Students may apply for these scholarships themselves or may be recommended by another member of the community. The application deadline is Wednesday, March 7. Make Orange Green

--- This is the last week of the RecycleMania residence hall recycling competition. Which hall will win the "Recycling Animal" trophy? Which hall will win the "Trash Hog" trophy? After three weeks of competition, the Apartment Residence Hall is in first place with 30 points, Morrill Hall is close behind with 29 points, and Gibbs Hall rounds out the top three with 27 points. There is still time for your hall to compete! Talk to your RA this week to find out how you can participate to earn points by recycling.

Ready for the World Events

--- The Ready for the World Café will spice up diners' lunches on Tuesday, March 6, with traditional Indian fare. Appetizers: hot and sour soup and a traditional Indian raita (a dip made of spices, yogurt, and vegetables). Entrée: chicken vindaloo with Indian spiced pilau rice and aubergine bhaji (curried chicken with basmati rice and eggplant, all flavored with Indian spices) served with naan bread (sweet flatbread with a chewy texture) and almond honey milk. Dessert: Mango kulfi (a mango Dreamsicle-like treat) over karanji (fried fritters filled with raisins, almonds and coconut). Tickets are $12. For more info or to buy a ticket, call 974-6645.

--- When UT student Jayanni Webster teamed up with fellow seniors Abbey Schaplowsky and Corie Fine on a social work class project, they had no clue their ideas would turn into a university-funded diversity program. The culmination of their efforts is "Dialogue: A Conversation on Race and Religion at UT," a film screening and panel discussion to be held at 6:00 p.m. on March 6 in the Black Cultural Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Athletics

--- Come check out the Sailing Club as they host a regatta against Georgia Tech, the College of Charleston, Auburn University, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, North Carolina State University and Clemson University.  The regatta will be held at Concord Yacht Club on Saturday, March 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
