Dr. Alexander Bynchkov will discuss the mission of the International Atomic
Energy Agency (IAEA) as related to nuclear energy.
Dr. Bynchkov is a leading expert in the field of nuclear engineering. He has
served as the Director of the Research Institute of Atomic Reactors (RIAR) in
Dimitrovgrad, Russia and he is authorized as ROSATOM expert on issues of
nuclear fuel cycle, disposal of nuclear materials, nuclear fuel reprocessing and
production technologies and investigations of nuclear fuel and new
technologies. He also manages activities in the field of experimental nuclear
facility development and operation, including research reactors.
Main scientific activities of Dr. Bychkov deal with molten salt chemistry,
chemistry and technology of actinides and nuclear fuel, closed fuel cycle,
techniques of hot laboratories, technologies of radionuclides and radiation
sources. He is one of leading specialists in the field of non-aqueous methods of
nuclear fuel reprocessing and production.
