Trinity International University (TIU) is comprised of Trinity College, Trinity
Evangelical Divinity School, and the Trinity Graduate School along with 2
regional centers and extension programs throughout the Midwest (total student
FTE of 2,124). The university is located about 22 miles north of Chicago. The
James E. Rolfing Memorial Library contains a circulating collection of 190,000
books, 770 journals, 70 databases, and 7,100 media. Rolfing has nine full-time
library staff, seven of which are professional librarians. TIU is affiliated with the
Evangelical Free Church of America. The successful candidate for this position
must agree with the university’s mission, values, and statement of faith, which

Rolfing Memorial Library is looking for a collaborative librarian who is eager to
serve the Trinity community in the following ways:
Provide leadership in collection management for books/e-books; oversee annual
monograph budget; select books/e-books for assigned college & graduate
departments; perform monograph data collection and analysis; hire, train, and
supervise part-time employees; resolve book/e-book cataloging questions and
problems; promote the monograph collection through displays and/or special
events; serve as primary contact for book/e-book vendors; and pursue
professional development. This position reports to the Head of Technical
Services. It is a full-time, 12 month, exempt, non-faculty position.
Qualifications
These are the primary experiences and skills that we believe will equip you to
excel in this position.
An ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent degree. A personal commitment to
Christian higher education. At least 2 years of experience working in an
academic library, preferably with collection development and/or acquisitions.
Initiative to set priorities, propose viable solutions, and participate in long-
range planning. Strong analytical skills. Adept problem solver. Excellent
communication skills. Works well both independently and as a team member.
Able to effectively supervise part-time employees. Previous experience with
OCLC and an integrated library system (Ex Libris’ Voyager ILS software
preferred). At least one year experience with copy-cataloging monographs.
Familiarity with using MARC and applying AACR2 standards. Pursuit of
professional development.
Salary & Benefits
$41,500 annually. Full-time employee benefits including health, dental, and
vision are available.
