--- Panel discussion, "Nukes & Faith: Discussing religion's role in nuclear security and energy," 7:00 p.m. tonight in the Baker Center auditorium. The Institute of Nuclear Materials Management, the UT Religious Studies Association, Tyson House Episcopal & Lutheran Campus Ministry, and the Howard Baker Center for Public Policy are teaming up to facilitate an expert panel discussion about relationships between nuclear security and global religious traditions. --- The National Society of Black Engineers would like to invite all students to their annual NSBE Week, taking place all this week. This year's theme is "The Blueprint for Success," and it will feature many events through the week to get students ready for the next step in their careers, whether it's an co-op/internship or a full time job. --- Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) meeting, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, in the CCI Auditorium, Room 321. This meeting will feature a panel of young professionals, Taylor Griffin, Abbey Harris, Chris Martin, Chelsea Crawford and Emily Mouyeos, discussing how they were hired, the daily issues they face, and helpful tips they have regarding life after graduation. --- This Thursday, Oct. 27, the College of Engineering will continue a nearly century-long tradition—Engineers Day. Each October, undergraduate engineering classes are dismissed for one day to allow university students and faculty to spend time interacting with hundreds of potential engineering students from high schools across the region.

The Udall Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship for students dedicated to a career related to the environment, or for Native American students interested in a career in tribal policy/education/healthcare. --- UT students are invited to attend a preview performance of the Clarence Brown Theatre's musical comedy "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in the CBT Carousel Theatre. Free for students with valid UT ID. Six quirky child prodigies compete in a high-stakes spelling bee while attempting to navigate the single most harrowing experience known to mankind: puberty. --- Running with Hope 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run benefitting Reedeming Hope Ministries will take place at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, on the UT Campus, beginning and ending in Circle Park. --- The UT Women's Coordinating Council’s will host "The Clothesline Project" on the Pedestrian Mall, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day this week in preparation for WCC's annual "Take Back the Night" march and rally. "The Clothesline Project" is designed to promote the awareness of issues regarding domestic violence through the decorating of shirts. Each shirt color represents an aspect of domestic violence. Participants are encouraged to decorate a shirt that represents their own story, or the story of a loved one. Questions? E-mail [log in to unmask]

--- The Women’s Coordinating Council's annual event "Take Back the Night" (TBTN) will be begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, at the university seal on the Pedestrian Mall. TBTN is a night set aside to raise awareness about sexual assault, domestic violence, and the struggles we face in creating a safe environment for women, children, and men.

--- Who is your favorite professor? Each year, the UT Alumni Association funds awards that recognize excellence in the classroom.  These awards are part of the association’s continuing effort to encourage resourceful and creative instruction and to publicly recognize exceptional teaching, especially the teaching of undergraduates. Selected by the Knoxville Campus Alumni Awards Committee, the winners will be announced at the spring Chancellor’s Honors Banquet. To nominate a current faculty member visit http://volsconnect.com and download a nomination form. Deadline for nominations is Friday, Nov. 4. Please note that winners of the Alumni Outstanding Teacher Award are ineligible to receive the award again for a period of five years. • Installation of eight water bottle fill stations at the University Center, TRECS, John C. Hodges Library and other campus locations.

Wednesday, Oct. 26: Korean horror movie night. Watch a screening of "The Tale of Two Sisters." 6:30 p.m. Cost: free.

--- Buon appetito! The Ready for the World Café will take diners on a tour of Northern Italy at its luncheon tomorrow from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the UT Visitors Center on Neyland Drive. --- As part of Campus Sustainability Day on October 26, Volunteer Dining is hosting a Fall Festival at the PCB Cafe from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The lunch event will feature seasonal dishes and produce, including locally sourced pumpkins cleverly disguised as pumpkin pie. Drop by and see if you can identify them with your taste buds. Also during Campus Sustainability Day, students are invited to the Black Out Bash at Presidential Courtyard from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 26. All student residents are encouraged to turn off their dorm room lights for one hour to save energy and help their residence hall earn points toward the POWER Challenge. While the lights are out, students can partake in Halloween festivities including pumpkin carving, raffles, food and drinks. Questions? --- UT Recycling needs student volunteers to assist with the EPA's Game Day Recycling Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 29. Before, during and after the UT-USC football game, UT Recycling will collect recyclables and food waste for composting from major tailgate areas on campus. UTK is competing against other schools nationwide to determine which school will collect the most recycling and compost. UT needs your help to win this challenge!

Volunteer shifts on Saturday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 30th are as follows:
1st recycling shift (Sat) 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
2nd recycling shift (Sat) 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. 
3rd recycling shift (Sat) 7 p.m. to midnight 
4th recycling shift (Sun) 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
5th recycling shift (Sat) 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. (NEW- COMPOST SHIFT!)
