Dear Math Honors students,
Many of you take large academic loads and you need to be careful to avoid
losing your hope scholarship due to excess of hours. Seniors should be
especially careful to not earn120 hours by the end of the fall
semester--not including hours earned while in high school such as AP
credits and dual enrollment. Under most circumstances you would then lose
your hope scholarship for spring. I'm not an expert on this, so if you
have questions about the rules, please contact the financial aid office.
Fortunately, Math 497 is only worth 2 hours, so many students can take 14
or 17 in the fall and keep their total at 119 or lower. You may also
postpone Math 498 (thesis) until the spring if it would push you over the
limit.
