--- Maryville College President Tom Bogart will discuss his book, "The False Promise of Green Energy," at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, in the Toyota Auditorium at the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy.
The event is free and open to the public. Bogart will sign copies of his book following his presentation.
--- The Comparative & Experimental Medicine Seminar Series continues today, Monday, April 25, from
noon to 1:00 pm in the Veterinary Medicine Building Sequoyah Room. Today's topic is Integration of Molecular and Classical Techniques in the Diagnosis and Epidemiology of Parasitic Infections
presented by Dr. Richard Gerhold
--- The UT Science Forum presents Dr. Kristina Gordon, associate professor of psychology, who will speak on, “Shattered Relationships: Understanding Betrayal and Forgiveness in Intimate Relationships” from 12 noon to 1 p.m., Friday, April 29. The Science Forum is free and open to the public and takes place in Thompson-Boling Arena dining room C&D. Bring your lunch or purchase it from the Arena. --- 2011 Volapalooza: The Kickoff to Commencement concert will be held Friday, April 29, at World's Fair Park featuring headliner Girl Talk with special guest Matt Costa and opener The Kingston Springs. This year's concert is presented by Campus Entertainment Board, Cultural Attractions Committee, Student Government Association, URHC, Aramark, All Campus Events, and WUTK. All UT students may enter free with ID at the gate. Tickets for the general public can be purchased at www.knoxvilletickets.com or at the UC Central Ticket Office for $15 or $20 the day of the show. As a part of the Kickoff to Commencement ceremonies, graduating seniors will be allowed early entry at 6:00 p.m. for a special Senior Hour with free food and giveaways. --- As part of National Anxiety and Depression Awareness Week and Mental Health Month, the Psychological Clinic at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will be hosting a free anxiety and depression screening day to provide public education and offer referrals for individuals suffering from these disorders. The screenings will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, at the Psychological Clinic, 227 Austin Peay Building, 1404 Circle Drive. Screenings will be conducted on a walk-in basis by graduate students in the clinical psychology Ph.D. program and supervised by licensed psychologists.

--- The Chancellor's Honors Program presents the second annual Aid for Africa Event from 8:30 p.m to midnight. Thursday, April 28, in the UC Ballroom. The event will benefit Water for Wotera. Enjoy fun, refreshments, and dancing with entertainment provided by DJ Jason Lovely and a Kumba Drum and Dance Ensemble. Pre-sale tickets are $5/person or $8/couple, and will be available on the Pedestrian Walkway the week of April 25. Tickets will be available at the event for $10/person. All UT students and their guests are welcome. Recommended dress is casual.
