Yes ELIS is a continuation of a standing order this is the 3rd edition
of a work-an encyclopedia which is a multivolume set record.
If we look at the call numbers in each edition below from LC they are
all the same except for the year of the editions.
The original cataloging was as a series, as opposed to a serial record.
here is what I found in LC Library of Congress cataloging:
Also, in addition to the changing editors, there is a slight title
change with the first edition as "information science" in the title as
opposed to the latter "information sciences" with an "s"
this may have also caused some problems with searching.
The 050 fields all have the same LC classification with a different
date for the print versions
Libraries will choose cataloging records based on a number of issues,
and now they also have e-resources/formats. So looking in WorldCat
one way will only retrieve certain results
and may not reflect an accurate picture of holdings in libraries.
