Dear Jennifer et al,
I won't take credit for the ALISE data being mine, but ALISE is very interested in identifying data not currently collected that, if collected, would be beneficial to the field. New data items currently being explored include summary admission criteria and summary placement data. We're crossing our fingers for a proposed IMLS grant that will include a systematic study of the statistics, their use, and needs for additional data. In the meantime, if you have ideas for things that need (or don't need) to be included in the Statistics, please pass them on to me.

in our programs, this type of study should never be used on its own to
judge program quality. It's unfortunate that it is being touted as

If anyone out there in JESSE land is interested in partnering to
develop a worthwhile methodology (and eventual dataset) to assess LIS
programs, I would really like to be part of that. There is quite a
bit of information out there to start with actually. Danny Wallace's
data might be one place to start.
