Dear Math Honors Students,
See the message below concerning presentations of honors program research
at the Honors Symposium. A couple of students did this last year, and it
was nice to have math represented. The talks are only 10-15 minutes; I
encourage you to apply for this. If you do, please let me know so that I
can attend if my schedule permits.

Dear Colleagues - I'm writing you to ask that you encourage the Honors
students whom you might be advising to participate in the Second Annual
Honors Symposium. The Symposium is scheduled for Saturday, March 26 and
offers an outlet for honors students to present their research and share
it with their peers. Presentations will be 10 to 15 minutes, followed by a
question and answer period. Presentations of any variety, from any field,
are more than welcome.
All honors students are invited to apply; this includes Chancellor's
Honors students as well as departmental and specialized honors programs.
I have attached a fillable PDF of the application form. Note that it is
due no later than Wednesday, March 2. Students can submit the proposals
via email to Jenny Bledsoe at [log in to unmask] or turn in hardcopies in
F101 in Melrose Hall.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. And please
feel free to advertise the symposium to the students, staff, and faculty
in your departments and units. I've taken the liberty of attaching a flyer
in case you would like to print it out or send it along to colleagues and
students.
And I hope it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: this is a great
opportunity to celebrate the research and scholarship of some of our very
best students. I, and many others, are really looking forward to this
event.
Sorry for any cross-postings.
Best wishes -
Nate
