--- Internationally renowned dance troupe Pilobolus, known for combining modern dance with body contortions, will perform at the Bijou Theatre at 7:30 p.m. tonight. The performance is sponsored by the Cultural Attractions Committee. Tickets are $5 for UT students, $20 for UT faculty and staff, and $25 for the general public.

--- Mortar Board is the premier national honor society recognizing upcoming college seniors for superior achievement in scholarship, leadership and service. --- The UT chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) is holding a social media workshop, 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 25, in 201 Haslam Business Building. This will give a current look at social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and the tricks and strategies that individuals/companies use to build and sustain their brands. --- The College of Arts and Sciences' advising services is moving to Ayres Hall room 313. The advising service will be closed today but will be open tomorrow, Jan. 25. Normal operating hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Advising Services will have the same phone numbers: 974-4481 for the office and 974-4483 for the appointment line.

--- Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-medicine honor society kickoff meeting, 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 25, in 27 Alumni Memorial Building. Special visitors from the UT College of Pharmacy will conduct blood pressure and glucose testing training for the pre-health students who attend. --- Novelist Jesmyn Ward will read from her work at Writers in the Library, 7 p.m. tomorrow in Hodges Library auditorium. Ward's debut novel, "Where the Line Bleeds," follows the diverging paths taken by twin brothers living in a small town on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. --- Alpha Phi Omega is a national service fraternity for men and women founded on the principles of the Boy Scouts of America. Its purpose is to develop leadership, promote friendship and provide service to humanity. Interest meeting will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 25, in UC 227. Free and open to the public.

--- The Public Relations Student Society of America's first meeting of the year will be held at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 25, in the CCI Auditorium on the third floor of the Communications Building. "Planning a Big Event" is the topic of the meeting, with guest speakers Jeff Cuellar from A.C. Entertainment and Seth Linkous from East Tennessee Children's Hospital discussing how they stage special events each year such as Bonnaroo and the Dancing with the Knoxville Stars and Radiothon. --- Sigma Alpha Iota music fraternity interest meeting, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, in Starbuck's in Hodges Library. Sigma Alpha Iota is an organization which promotes interaction among those who share a commitment to music. Free and open to the public.

--- Time is running out to apply for the opportunity to attend the LeaderShape Institute hosted specifically for 60 selected UTK students on May 11-16, 2011. --- Renowned New Testament scholar Bart D. Ehrman of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill will kick off the newly-created David L. Dungan Memorial Lecture at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, in the UC auditorium. Ehrman's lecture is titled "Does The New Testament Contain Forgeries? The Surprising Claims of Modern Scholars" and is presented by UT's Department of Religious Studies.

--- UT Dance Marathon organizers are holding a 5K fundraising run at Circle Park on Saturday, Jan. 29. Registration is $30, and begins at 1:30 p.m. The 5K race begins at 3 p.m. Awesome long sleeve t-shirt included in registration fee. All money raised goes towards East Tennessee Children's Hospital.

--- William Bass, the world-renowned forensic anthropologist and founder of the UT Body Farm, will speak about "Four Deadly Cases," 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the Cox Auditorium in the Alumni Memorial Building. --- The Tennessee Collegiate Horsemen's Association is looking for students that are interested in horses or the equine industry. The club promotes leadership, service, and education in the equine world and welcomes all disciplines, levels and interests. --- Nourish International develops entrepreneurial, leadership and management skills and heightens global poverty awareness among college students as they collaboratively work with international non-profit organizations to alleviate extreme poverty. This year, the UTK chapter of Nourish is partnering with World Action for Humanity to assist a Ugandan House of Hope that provides education, nutrition, and medical care to orphaned children. For six weeks of this coming summer, student participants will work closely with the community and children to cultivate farmland that will serve as a source of nutrition and possible income for the House of Hope. Previous membership in Nourish International or extensive agriculture knowledge is not necessary. --- Bridge Refugee Services, Inc., is looking for volunteers to work with newly arrived refugees as general volunteers and as English tutors. --- Looking for an exciting leadership opportunity?  Plan to attend the first live Leadershop of the spring semester, 6 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 25, in UC 223-224. This hour-long leadership workshop will introduce students to an engaging and relational leadership style developed in Seattle's famous Pike's Place fish market. Participants will strengthen their capacity for person-centered leadership and raise their emotional intelligence. Important Deadlines

--- The UT Office of Student Orientation and Leadership Development (SOLD) has opened registration for the Women's Mentoring Network (WMN) at UT. The WMN is designed to develop mentoring relationships between female UT students and mentors who are distinguished staff, faculty and alumnae of the university. If you are interested, please register for the WMN on the Student Orientation & Leadership development website at http://sold.utk.edu/womensprogs/women.php. All registrations are due on Friday, Jan. 28. The WMN kick-off will be held on Feb. 3 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Black Cultural Center multipurpose room, at which time all mentees and mentors will be introduced. Questions? --- The Baker Center is now seeking outstanding UT upperclassmen for annual appointments as Baker Policy Scholars. By conducting research and/or organizing initiatives to address issues of public policy, Baker Policy Scholars assist the Baker Center in its role as a "think tank" for generating innovative ideas and publishing best practices for application in the world of policy and politics. Ready for the World Events

--- The International House Culture Night is back for the spring semester and will kick off this Wednesday, Jan. 26, in the I-House Great Room with a Greek Culture Night featuring authentic and delicious Greek cuisines, traditional Greek dancing performance, presentations on different aspects of Greek culture from native Greeks and American students who have been abroad there, and even more. Tickets are on sale at the I-House front desk. Cost: $2 for I-House club members, $5 for students, $6 for faculty and staff and $7 for the general public.
