Dear Math Honors Students,
I strongly encourage you to consider giving a presentation at the UT
Eureca event (http://research.utk.edu/eureca/), provided your project was
at least partly mentored by a UT faculty member (that's a requirement, for
some reason). The university does provide resources to our program, and it
is important that results of that support are visible; by taking the time
to make a poster for this event, you are helping to support the program
that has been supporting you. In particular, I would like each of you who
worked on a research project with me this summer to download the
application form, fill it out, and send it to me in the next couple of
days. A presentation simply requires making a poster, and perhaps being
present at some time to talk about it (to non-mathematicians). The
conference is in March, and the website gives a deadline of February 11,
but I have been told that the internal deadline for our college is
February 4.
