Here's a good set of internship opportunities in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Josh was a geography student and grad student here, so he knows that the internship is appropriate for geographers.
Because the listserve doesn't handle attachments, we'll print and post the attachments on the third floor BGB bulletin board.

Subject: 2011 internships in Great Smoky Mountains National Park
I wanted to pass along our announcement for 2011 internship openings for
this coming summer. The announcement is a catch all for internships
park-wide, including biological, interpretive, technical, and cultural
positions. The forest ecology internship applies specifically to the crew
Tom and I will be working with. We're looking for two summer interns
(May-August) who want to primarily work in the field. Much of the work is
plant community related, and we'll be using Trimble and Garmin GPS
equipment for data collection, and using ArcGIS software to produce maps.
The stipend is $125/week with housing provided.
There is also a GIS position being advertised, which will work out of our
building (Twin Creeks).
It would be great if you could send the attached pdf to the Geography email
list. Also, feel free to post it in the hallway, etc.
If anyone has any questions, they can feel free to contact me at:

Thanks!
