Message : On Tuesday July 19th, scheduled maintenance on the FutureNet network will cause the following interruption of service:
 
- UTK-ORNL connection, affecting access for UT offices at ORNL (e.g. NICS/JICS, JIBS).  This includes access to the Kraken supercomputer.  Access to ORNL proper will be re-routed through the Internet.
- UTK-Atlanta connection, affecting Internet services provided by Cogent, SoX/Internet2, and TransitRail.  Internet access will be provided through the Knoxville-based Internet link.
- Direct connection to Fermilab and GLORIAD via Starlight in Chicago
 
The maintenance work is scheduled to start at 7:00 AM EDT and is expected to be completed around noon, but may extend until 5:00 PM that day.
 
FutureNet is a regional optical network that is managed by ORNL and provides high speed connectivity to various research facilities.
