Dear Graduating Seniors,
For those of you planning to work on a PhD starting next year, you should
seriously consider applying for the NSF fellowships. Yes, they are
competitive, but it is a good exercise and helps increase your chances of
getting one in the future (two previous math honors students have gotten
them--one starting his first year in graduate school and another in his
second. The deadline is November 18. Here are the details:
FULL PROPOSALS FOR NSF GRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS
The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) provides fellowships to
individuals selected early in their graduate careers based on their
demonstrated potential for significant achievements in science and
engineering. Three years of support is provided by the program for graduate
study that is in a field within NSF's mission and leads to a research-based
master's or doctoral degree. The deadline for full proposals is NOVEMBER 18,
