Subject: NREIP Application Period Oct. 15 - Jan 14
Do you know a college undergraduate or graduate student who is majoring in
science and engineering and is looking for a summer internship? If so,
the
NREIP may be just what they are looking for!
Applications for Naval Research Enterprise Intern Program (NREIP) will be
accepted beginning October 15, 2010.
NREIP is an Office of Naval Research (ONR) sponsored program that
encourages college students to experience a 10 week internship relevant to
their science and engineering major. The program provides students'
exposure to the everyday practice of engineering and research at DOD
laboratories across the country. Students applying to the program can
select from over a dozen
Navy laboratories and centers, including the NSWC Carderock Division at
either the West Bethesda or Philadelphia site.
Students will receive a stipend for the 10 week internship, ranging from
$7,690 for undergraduate students to $10,250 for graduate students.
Payments are in three (3) installments.
Applicants must be of Junior, Senior, or Graduate student status by summer
2011 and must be enrolled at a 4 year U.S. Accredited college/university.
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, although permanent resident aliens are
considered by some laboratories. To apply and to get more program
details,
students must go to www.asee.org/nreip/. The application deadline is
January 7, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. All transcripts must be submitted by January
14, 2011 at 5:30 p.m.
