Students:
If you feel that one of your teachers has been exceptionally good, please
consider nominating him or her for the UT Alumni Association Teaching
Award. The nomination form is short and can be filled out and submitted
online. It can be found at http://alumni.utk.edu/aot.
The nomination is due Nov. 1. Winners in the last 5 years cannot win
again; in the Math Department those would be Professors Wade and Hinton.
If you are nominating a Math faculty member, then on the form where it
asks for "College," put "Arts and Sciences."
Lecturers are eligible for this award, along with tenure-track faculty.
Thank you,
-Mike Frazier

Each year, the UT Alumni Association funds four awards that recognize
excellence in the classroom. These awards are part of the association's
continuing effort to encourage resourceful and creative instruction and to
publicly exceptional teaching, especially the teaching of undergraduates.
Selected by the Knoxville Campus Alumni Awards Committee, the winners will
be announced at the spring Chancellor's Honors Banquet. To nominate a
faculty member, go to http://alumni.utk.edu/aot. The deadline for
nominations is Monday, November 1, 2010. If you have any questions, please
email Mary Holtman-Reed at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
This e-mail list is intended for those who have an interest in mathematics at the University of Tennessee. All current UT math majors and minors should be on this list in order not to miss important announcements. To add or remove yourself from the list, visit listserv.utk.edu.
