King College, a private, comprehensive college founded in the Presbyterian
tradition, is inviting applications for an Outreach Services Librarian, a full-time
faculty position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Duties include
coordinating and promoting off-campus library services to King College
students, faculty, and staff at extended campus sites; providing in-person and
online library instruction to students and faculty at off-campus sites; serving
as a collection development liaison to assigned academic departments;
participating in reference desk rotation and managing Kingsport Site Library.
Qualifications: ALA-accredited master's degree in library and/or information
science is required and three years of professional experience. The successful
candidate will have knowledge of a wide range of print and electronic
information resources, demonstrated teaching experience; experience with
course management systems, web page development, and other instructional
technology software; ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team-based
environment as well as juggle multiple priorities in a busy, time-sensitive
environment. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
