Changing with the Times: How Change put Belmont University on the Map
Belmont University president and PRSA Nashville's 2009 Apollo Award
recipient Dr. Robert Fisher's life mission is to "help create
experiences that transform people, especially students, in ways that
enable them to become all they were created to be." In his nine years
in Nashville, he has transformed the face of Belmont and has become an
integral part of the city's growth and development.
Under his leadership, Belmont has grown enrollment 81 percent while the
campus has expanded significantly. For the first time, U.S. News &
World Report listed the university as a "School to Watch," and Belmont
rose to seventh in the Southeast in the 2009 college rankings.
Additionally, Belmont was the host site for the 2008 Town Hall
Presidential Debate, a historic event broadcast worldwide which hosted
more than 3,000 international media. This event led to his selection as
2008 Tennessean of the year. More recently, Easter Seals named Dr.
Fisher as Nashvillian of the Year for his continued leadership
contributions to the city.
Join Dr. Fisher as he addresses PRSA Nashville about the important role
of communications in change management, one he clearly places in the
spotlight as he works tirelessly to place Belmont University in the
national spotlight.
