Time is fast approaching for the National Latino Children's Literature Conference which will be held here in Tuscaloosa @ The University of Alabama on April 23rd - 24th. This exciting, two-day conference, sponsored in part by SLIS, brings together librarians, educators, teachers, childcare providers, researchers, and Latino children's literature experts from all across the U.S. to network, share, and learn more about the exciting opportunities for serving the fastest-growing population in today's classrooms and libraries. The conference will feature 7 Latino authors and illustrators of children's and young adult literature as well as over a dozen breakout sessions related to Latino children's literature, the literacy needs of Latinos, library services to Latino and Spanish-speaking populations, and much more.
Registration is limited so hurry before you miss your chance to interact with award-winning authors and illustrators, and to network with researchers and professionals serving the literacy needs of Latino children in classrooms, libraries, and educational settings around the U.S. For more information and to see a list of breakout sessions visit the conference website: http://www.latinochildlitconf.org/.
