--- The UT Libraries now offers library resources and selected services in mobile format. --- The University of Tennessee provides several scholarships available to upperclassmen based primarily on campus leadership and campus and community service. The recipients of these scholarships are chosen in the spring by a committee appointed by the Division of Student Affairs. --- Election reform will be the focus of a one-day conference to be held on campus Friday, March 5. The conference, which will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will be held in the Toyota Auditorium of the Baker Center. The conference will focus on recent innovations designed to improve voting in election administration at the national, state and local levels; the status of the voting rights law; and the importance of the 2010 Census on American politics and government.

--- Former Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore will be honored by UT Knoxville with only the third honorary degree granted by the campus. Gore will receive the degree -- an Honorary Doctor of Laws and Humane Letters in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology -- at the spring commencement exercises of the College of Arts and Sciences on May 14. He will be the featured speaker at the ceremony, addressing graduates and their families along with the gathered faculty.

--- Diversity Job Fair, 3 - 5 p.m. today in the Ray Mears Room of Thompson-Boling Arena. The purpose of the fair is to connect students from different backgrounds with employers who are committed to diversifying their workforce. The event is open to all students with special emphasis on helping students from a variety of populations, such as students with disabilities, the LGBT community and individuals from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds.

--- American Medical Student Association meeting, 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, in UC 237. Representatives from the Red Cross will speak about volunteer opportunities with their FAST program. FAST volunteers are first-aid certified and work in first-aid stations at community events. --- The UT Hillel Jewish Student Center invites you to enjoy an evening of comedy with five-time Emmy award winner Alan Zweibel, 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, in the UC auditorium. Zweibel has written for such television shows as Curb Your Enthusiasm and Saturday Night Live. Free and open to the public. This program is made possible through a University of Tennessee Student Activity Grant. UT Hillel is a program of the Knoxville Jewish Alliance.

--- The 5th Annual Asian Awareness Night will be held in the Ula Love Doughty Carousel Theater at 7 p.m on Friday, March 19 2010.  This year's show is titled "ORIGIN" and is a celebration of culture within the Asian American community of Knoxville.There will be traditional music, dances, hilarious skits and authentic Asian food. "ORIGIN" is sponsored by the Asian American Association at UTK.
 
This event is open to the student body, the UT community and the general public. General admission tickets can be purchased at the door for $5/students with valid UT ID and $7/general public.

Ready for the World Events

--- The UT Women's Coordinating Council (WCC) celebrates Women's HERstory Month, now through April 1. This year's theme is "Well Behaved Women Seldom Make History." The WCC will host numerous events, musical performances, discussions, and film viewings to highlight the many contributions of women. All events are free and open to the public. Questions? --- The Ready for the World Café will celebrate Wellness Week this week with food and facts. The international buffet's menu will include coconut-crusted mahi mahi with pan-roasted garlic, rosemary and tomato sauce (great source of omega-3s); vegetarian pad Thai; broccolini with lemon and shallots (100 calorie or less per serving); roasted pepper, cucumber and tomato salad (a full serving of vegetables); fennel-dusted chicken with brown butter and capers (600 mg or less of sodium per serving); herb-marinated pork tenderloins (15 grams or less of carbohydrates per serving); and sour cream and chive mashed potatoes (a good source of calcium). The Ready for the World Café will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each Monday through Thursday in the Hermitage Room on the third floor of the University Center. Diners pay $11 for the all-you-can-eat buffet or $9 for a plate of food to carry out. The Ready for the World Café accepts dining dollars and All Star, and faculty and staff!

--- The Student Government Association's Diversity Affairs committee hosts its annual Diversity Week this week. The theme is "I am NOT My Stereotype" and each day will represent a different aspect of diversity on campus.
