Dear Math Honors Students,
I'm sorry that this got lost in my e-mail. If you'd like to give a talk at
the first annual UT Honors Symposium, then you need to act quickly because
the deadline is tomorrow. This sounds like a fun thing to do and is a good
thing to put on your resume/grad school applications. See below for more
details. Please let me know if you sign up to give a talk. As long as it
doesn't conflict with my teaching schedule, I'll attend (and will
encourage other math students to go as well).

Hello Dr. Plaut,
Along with a few other honors students, I am organizing the first annual
Honors Symposium. Scheduled for Monday, March 22, the symposium will offer
an outlet in which honors students can present their research and share it
with their peers. Presentations will be 10 to 15 minutes, followed by a
question and answer session. I am emailing you to request that you share
the attached application form with your honors students. All honors
students are invited to apply; this includes students in the Chancellor’s
Honors Program as well as departmental and specialized honors programs.
Please note that application forms are due by Wednesday, March 3 at 5 p.m.
in the Chancellor’s Honors Program office in room F101 of Melrose Hall.
(Additional application forms are also available in the CHP office.)
If you or any of your students have any questions about the Honors
Symposium, feel free to contact Jenny Bledsoe, the chair of the steering
committee, at [log in to unmask]
Thanks for your help in spreading the word,
Catie Karczmarczyk
