The annual Sigma Xi student competition, sponsored by UTK Chapter of
Sigma Xi, will be a part of the Research Week this year. The competition
is based on an abstract and an oral presentation of research conducted
at UT toward an advanced degree. It is open to all graduate and
undergraduate students. The presentations will be judged by a faculty
panel in each of the major areas represented. The first place winner
will receive a check for $150 and the second place winner a check for
$75 in each category. In addition, they will receive a certificate. The
awards will be presented at a reception to be held on the night of March
25, 2010 at the UC ballroom.
Students interested in participating in the competition must complete
the abstract form (abstract of 200-350 words) to Dr. Hairong Qi,
